ABOUT SOFT PLAY CITY
Soft Play City is the evolution of the soft play stay and play sessions created by myself, Orron and my mobile soft play and inflatable business, Bury Soft Play.

Bury Soft Play was born for my eldest sons 1’st birthday in 2016.
​
Why??? There was a distinct lack of premium soft play hire companies in our local area and those that we found lacked the quality we felt our son and his friends deserved for his 1st birthday.
​
So…… with this in mind and wanting to put on the best party, I decided to buy some good quality, commercial equipment for his birthday and then look to hire it out a few times a month to friends and family.
FAST FORWARD TO 2025

We now hire 40+ parties per month with a team of staff and... Would you believe, the equipment used for our sons 1’st birthday is still in use today, a tribute to the outstanding quality of equipment and suppliers we found.​​​
The Sessions
In 2020, I made the brave decision to take Bury Soft Play full time and as well as the weekend party hires, I would also start running local mid week Stay and Play Sessions, offering parents and their pre-school ages children somewhere to go to have a play date with family and friends, in an environment that wasn’t a big soft play centre. Somewhere local that they could go.

We all know how much fun soft play centres are for children, but firstly, there is never much soft play there and secondly, for us adults, having to weave and contort our bodies through the play structure cages is not quite as fun as it was when we were "younger".
The beauty of Soft Play City is that we bring the soft play centre to you, in a local village hall, community centre or venue, allowing the parents or guardians to be able to sit back and watch their children grow and develop in front of them, all in the safety of a secure location, filled with fun stuff. Everything is on one level, in plain sight and more importantly, the equipment is designed with crawlers to under 6's in mind.

We do of course, actively encourage adult participation during the sessions and as all the equipment if full commercial, it is also adult friendly. That said, our sessions allow for independent play, which offers so many developmental advantages for our children.

Children love to make forts out of the cushions at home or climb and crawl along the sofa which isn’t always seen as “fun” by the older ones in the house, but our sessions allow all of this to happen with equipment that is designed for it. Children can be as creative as they wish to be, building towers (and knocking them down again) all with fully commercial soft play equipment that you can not find at home.
What makes Soft Play City Unique? Our sessions are more than your typical parent and toddler group, all of our equipment has been designed with professional guidance, from physiotherapists to brain development doctors in the paediatric field worldwide. We use only the best soft play equipment from the number 1 soft play equipment manufacturer recommended by experts.

Soft Play City aims to offer a unique Stay & Play experience that isn’t matched but one that is also local. By visiting different locations each week, we bring the sessions to you and your children.
We offer PAYG sessions and will generally attend the venue once a month and, where possible, on the same day in the month, providing that continuity for both parents/carers and their children.
​
By offering PAYG tickets, you can book on the morning of the event (providing there is still a space). We offer a flexible cancelation policy, so if you or little one falls ill before the session, we make every effort to move the ticket to the next available date. After all, as parents ourselves, we know and understand how frustrating it can be when you have all these best make plans and little one is up all night feeling poorly.​​
Having 3 boys, soft play centres are great, and they certainly serve a purpose, however, we found they are more suitable for school aged children. Pre-schoolers need the safety net of being closely monitored by by an adult (or an older sibling) in these settings and whilst they certainly have a place as a children’s activity, there was a distinct lack of an “active” play session for the under 5’s during term time.
I have always been asked "can you come to this venue" or "do you cover this area as we would love your sessions but you are too far away"...... This got me thinking, how can I take the sessions to more venues and new locations, how can I make them more accessible.

After 2 years of work, Soft Play City was born.
​We understand that not all parents can drive or have access to transport, so by making our sessions mobile, our aim is to bring the soft play to you.
We limited the numbers at all sessions, to allow for uncrowded play but also so that mums, dads, nans, grandads or anyone that is supervising the children can also get involved as we actively encourage parental involvement. All our equipment is commercial grade, meaning it will take the weight of an average adult, so even mums and dads can try and walk the balance beam!

We do offer City Passes, which allows you to bulk buy 5 tickets, at a reduced price, which can be used at non special events at same priced locations and have no expiry.
​
Ticket prices will vary depending on the location but will remain affordable for what we offer. Each booking allows one free adult space, with additional spaces available for a nominal amount.
​
